An exclusive association of four Advent regions in three countries stands for tradition, originality and craftsmanship.
The four partner cities in Germany, Italy / South Tyrol and Austria are among the most beautiful, traditional and most adventurous Advent markets in the Alps. We are looking forward to see you!
The villages of St. Wolfgang, St. Gilgen and Strobl are situated in the beautiful landscape around the lake Wolfgangsee. All three have a special charm that you will not experience elsewhere. In St. Wolfgang you will find the homely atmosphere with candle and torchlight. St. Gilgen presents itself as a baroque Advent village with artistically designed market stands. The idyllic place Strobl turns into a picturesque village of nativity scenes during Christmas time.
At the Berchtesgaden Advent you will find lively customs and traditions in the pre-Christmas period. Discover the original Berchtesgaden Christmas decorations, made according to a century-old folk art, between the Christmas markets. The historic center of Berchtesgaden with the festively decorated citizen houses offers a unique atmosphere for the Christmas Market.
If the wood crackles in the oven, the peaks shine white from the first snow and the days are getting shorter, then Advent season is in South Tyrol. The elaborately carved cribs are unpacked, put up in the parlors and decorated with moss and pine-trees from the woods. Light garlands with pine-trees point the way to the Christmas market in Sterzing.
Tradition lives in the almost 1.000-meter-high late-medieval mining town with its cultural monuments, the impressive "Zwölferturm" from 1486 and the special exhibition on the mining history. The many colorful facades of houses with their characteristic bay windows also create a unique ambience.
The Grossarltal is so atmospheric in the run-up to Christmas. The highlights are the elaborately handcrafted crib path and the extensive family
program. Like hardly any other Advent market, the Salzburg Mountain Advent in Grossarltal values authenticity and tradition, regional products and handcrafts. You can also enjoy pure winter idyll
in the mountaineering village of Hüttschlag at the entrance to the Hohe Tauern National Park.
